Our trip to Myrtle Beach - Oct. 10-14, 2008

This was Ava's first trip to the beach! We drove 10 hrs after the boys got off the school bus and arrived at 2:30am in Fayetteville, NC to our usual greeting - a beer and a smile! Dan had a little caffeine to get him past his 10pm bedtime so he needed to unwind a bit before settling in to sleep.
The next day was cold and rainy, but the guys took advantage of the "indoor pool" which was really open to the outside, but still under cover. They liked the lazy river. We went to Hooters for dinner where the guys were singing "HOOOOOOTERS! HOOOOOOTERS! HOOOOOOOOTERS!" All the guys.
The next day was supposed to be a wash as well, but turned out to be a really nice but cloudy day. We subjected the girls to a little photo shoot.

Ava may look like she is diggin' having her feet in the ocean, but, truth be told, she screamed in protest the second after this was taken! The water was 78 degrees but the air was only 72 and it was windy!

The boys, however, enjoyed playing in the ocean. They splashed around a bit in their clothes and ended up soaked. Jacob thought it was cool that even his undies were wet! Austin already had his swimsuit on, so they swam in the ocean and then headed to the pool.

Our neice Alayna was showing off how great she can sit up all by herself. Isn't she sweet?
