Ava's first Girls Day Out...September 14, 2008

Daddy went to Cleveland today to watch the Steelers kick some Brown's butt! Adam went to Grandma Arlene's to work on the farm, and Austin and Jacob were spending the day at Gram Michaela's, so Ava and I went out with the girls. First, we picked up my friend Rachel and went to a Cookie Lee jewelry party. All the girls oooh'd and awww'd over Ava. She slept through the whole thing. After the party, we met our friend Monica at Chili's for drinks and an early dinner. It was so nice catching up with those two. Last summer we were really close, spending a lot of time doing fun things together. But this summer we were all busy in our own ways: I was pregnant, Rachel and her husband started their own delivery service which is doing great so far, and Monica was busy globe-trotting to Rio and Acapulco with her job, singing and salsa dancing in clubs with her band, and sing and dancing in musicals in Pittsburgh. She's very diverse. We really try to keep in touch, but it's been hard this summer. When we were done stuffing our faces, we went to the mall and walked around, gossiping like schoolgirls! It was so much fun, just to be silly for a moment. And Ava rode along in her "Cadillac stroller" peaceful as can be.
We headed to Michaela's just in time to pick up Austin and Jacob and get them home to get ready for school the next day. We settled in and spent the evening watching the Steeler game, trying to spy Daddy in the stands.
